Sigiriya is treated as one of the magnificent creation in the world. It is believed that the path way to Sigiriya was through a Lions mouth. But now only the giant paws of the lion is remaining. The rest of the structure is believed to be decade.Sigiriya was built by King Kashapa who ruled Sri Lanka for about 18 years. It has taken 7 year to built this magnificent place.There are about 1200 steps or 200 m up to the summit. You can probably walk up to the top and down again in 1.5-2 hours. If you are a completist, you might spend an additional 30-60 minutes exploring the various nooks and crannies in the gardens.
