About
Chidia tapu is 30 KM from main city; this place is famous for sunset view and for bird watching. Varieties of birds visit this place. The road passes through forest and small hills up to the Chidia tapu. The Chidiya Tapu came into existence in 2001 with the aim to conserve and study endemic and endangered species of animals found in the Andaman and Nicobar islands. Since then the park has been a center for biodiversity and conservation where one can catch a glimpse of the rich fauna of the islands. A few wild animals also get to see in this place. While Chidiya Tapu is probably the best sunset spot accessible from Port Blair, the horizon is obstructed by the hills of Rutland Island across the bay. As a result, the best colors come out about 30 to 45 minutes after the sun dips below the hilly horizon.
