A Salzburg fixture since 1970, during Festival times, you can sometimes glimpse some of the big names relaxing in its remarkable interior. Its high, vaulted ceiling is carved from an old salt cellar. The effect of the lighting is unique. As well as drinks, toasts – hot sandwiches – are available. Its list of Austrian wines is particularly good.
