Chausat Khambha

Chausath Khamba was originally a hall, which was built in the Mughal architectural style. The hall was later converted into a tomb, which comprised a square structure of white marble. This tomb consists 64 columns that support twenty five bays.Each bay is supported by a dome, which is not visible externally, as it is a reverse dome. The monument features flat roof and walls with arches that are held by square pilasters. Between each face of the five pilasters, marble trellised screens have been fixed.
