Many people from all over the world have made the pilgrimage to the Chapelle Notre Dame de la Medaille Miraculeuse. It is the chapel where the Blessed Virgin Mary was said to have appeared to Saint Catherine Laboure, a novice Seminary Sister in the Daughters of Charity in 1830.
Today when people visit the Chapelle Notre Dame de la Medaille Miraculeuse many actually pray before the preserved body of Catherine Labouré, perhaps hoping for a miracle or some kind of divine intervention into their lives. Throughout the years this church has sold over 500 medals portraying the virgin Mary that are meant to be miraculous for all who wear them.
