Chandragiri Fort

Chandragiri Fort is located at a distance of 10 km from Bekal and is believed to have been built during 1000 A.D. It was built by Immadi Narasimha Yadavaraya, a Karvetinagara chieftain of Narayanavanam. The fort was taken over by Shivappa Nayak, who renovated it in the 17th century. Chandragiri Fort is a part of the chain of forts renovated by Shivappa Nayak. Tourists can enjoy the beautiful view of the Chandragiri River along with the Arabian Sea from the fort. The fort is 150 ft above the sea level and is situated on the hill. Further, the fort is spread over an area of around 7 acres.
