Chaangdev Village, located near Alandi is said to be associated with the legend Yogi Chaangdev Maharaj who had stayed in this particular place for about 1400 years. The village is named after the legendary figure Chaangdev Maharaj. Changa meant good as well as a synonymous for Lord Shiva. This place is considered as a religious place because of the existence of Shiva Jyotirlinga and as it is associated with the Yogi Chaangdev Maharaj . Earlier, this village was known as Shri Kshetra Bhingnapur. The religious significance of the Chaangdev Village has gradually grown over the years and many religious ceremonies take place here.
