Our weekly classes are designed for people interested in performance but are also designed to enhances life skills through team work and personal development.Ireland's Largest Performing Arts Summer Camp Announces 14th SeasonLimerick's CentreStage is proud to announce the launch of its 2010 season of Performing Arts Summer Camps. Now in their 14th year the camps have proved to be a resounding success in the Mid West area and have attracted participants from France, Spain, UK and all over Ireland. Speaking at the launch, CentreStage Creative Director Richie Ryan said:This year the camp is delighted to have been facilitated by the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance who have agreed to host the final three camps in their new award-winning building on the University of Limerick campus. Richie Ryan notes that each individual camp has been specifically designed to encourage students to spend quality time working on various disciplines in the performing arts field.This year the CentreStage Performing Arts Summer Camps offers a choice of individually designed camps focusing on disciplines such as Dance, Acting and Singing. The ever popular 'Camp Broadway', aimed at the 12 to 18 year age group will offer two weeks of action packed lessons and this year the focus of the camp is the hit musical Wicked. 'Kamp Kreative', the junior camp aimed at 6 to 11 year olds will focus on 'The Jungle Book' whilst the very innovative and highly successful 'Camp Shining Stars' will allow Tots from the ages of 4 to 6 to tread the boards for the first time working on the ever popular 'Wizard of Oz'.Holly O'Donogue who is currently enjoying national acclaim in the hit RTE series, FAME The Musical works as a dance tutor with the camps. Speaking at the launch Holly said:'My first performance on the University Concert Hall stage was when I played the role of Patty Simcocks in Grease as part of the CentreStage Performing Arts Summer Camps. Not only did I have great fun but I learned some invaluable lessons in performance style. The camps allowed me to spend part of my summer developing my talents. I would recommend the camps to any young person with an interest in performing arts. It really is wonderful fun!'. The camps are currently open for booking.
