About
Roseville's Maidu Interpretive Center and Historic Site are located in a 30-acre park, rich in roughly 7,000 years of human history.
The Center, a museum, boasts exhibits about the Maidu way of life: Baskets, ceremonial regalia, bows and arrows, toys, pipes and jewelry. The facility also offers docent-led tours Tuesday through Saturday, monthly campfire storytelling events, and an annual Native American foods festival in February. Visitors can tour the historic site to see ancient petroglyphs (rock art) and bedrock mortars, which are round holes dug into boulders that were used for grinding acorns.
