Ceilidh Trail
Nova Scotia, Canada
About
The Ceilidh Trail is dotted with tiny fishing villages, beautiful beaches, and rugged scenery. The Ceilidh Trail is a beautiful destination in its own right, but is also a scenic route to the famous Cabot Trail of Cape Breton. If you enjoy beaches and swimming, then Port Hood has several sandy beaches. The beaches are never crowded and are very safe for swimming. The supervised beach can be reached by driving through Port Hood and taking the Wharf Road towards Sunset Sands RV Park. There is a breakwater that divides the beach into what the locals call the "wharf beach" and the "lifeguard beach". At the lifeguard beach, there is a small canteen and bathrooms. There is also a Day Park with a boardwalk just outside of Port Hood "town" that has a sand/cobble beach.
