About
Cefn Caer was an important centre of bardic patronage. Cefn Caer would have been home to Owain Glyndwr during the time the Pennal Policy was drawn up. Much of the orginal house remains and is lovingly being restored by its current owner Elfyn Rowlands. Large numbers of historic atrifacts can be seen throughout the house including a display of Roman Vases all unearthed on the site during archaeological surveys. The Pennal document, written on the site, was sent with its accompaning letters to the French King Charles VI and the Avignone Pope Benedict XIII on March 31st 1406 and delivered by Owain's envoys Hugh Eddouyer and Maurice Kerry.
