Cedar Point is a 364-acre (147 ha) amusement park located on a Lake Erie peninsula in Sandusky, Ohio, United States. Opened in 1870, it is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the United States behind Lake Compounce.[2] It is the flagship park of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, who owns and operates the park.[3] Known as "America's Roller Coast",[4] Cedar Point features a world-record 72 rides, including 16 roller coasters making it the park tied with Canada's Wonderland for the second-most roller coasters in the world. Its newest roller coaster, GateKeeper, opened in May 2013.[5]
