About

Cathedral Rock National Park is situated on 10,897 hectares and is located 60 kilometres from Armidale along the Waterfall Way, towards the coast. Activities of bushwalking, picnicking and bushcamping can be enjoyed within the park. Facilities include barbecues, toilets and water is available. Giant boulders, sculpted rock and distinctive granite tors make striking subjects for photography - and keep an eye out for wedge-tailed eagles on the wing. There is a three hour walk around and up to the top of the rock. The view from the top of this rock is magnificent - 360 degree view. It is not as well known as other national parks and gorges in the Armidale area, and is therefore underrated as a visitor destination. For the keen bushwalker, climbing cathedral rock on a nice day should not be missed. Camping is available at Native Dog Creek and Barokee rest areas.
