About
A bland exterior has not kept this from becoming one of Marrakech's most popular restaurants. Charming hosts Jawad and Geneviève Amrani, recently joined by their dapper son Mehdi, have been welcoming locals and visitors alike into their simply furnished Italian restaurant and pizzeria for more than 20 years now, and they're only getting busier. This place smells like an Italian restaurant should, due in large part to the wood-burning oven in the open kitchen. Waiters in red waistcoats and bow ties usher a wide range of pizzas, including a Royal topped with mince, prawns, mushrooms, and ham (yes, ham), and pastas such as penne in creamy tomato and vodka sauce. The baked eggplant topped with grilled parmesan makes for a particularly pleasant starter, while the obligatory tiramisu almost meets its match with the home-style apple crumble.
