Maximum expression of the Baroque in Recife, the Golden Chapel surprisingly rich and beautiful details. Erected between 1696 and 1724 by the Third Order of St. Francis has the altar, the walls and the carved ceiling and covered with leaves of old gold that fit dozens of paintings. The construction is part of the architectural ensemble of the Franciscan Monastery, heritage listed, and that also includes the church of St. Anthony (1606) and the Museum of Sacred Art, filled with pieces of the 18th century.
