Cape Kyan

Located on the southern tip of Okinawa is Cape Kyan. There is a memorial dedicated to peace on the cliff and a lighthouse set back from the edge of the cliff. There are some breathtaking views from this location of the East China Sea and cliffs. Follow a small trail toward the lighthouse and discover an overlook to view the memorial from a distance. Please be mindful of habu on the trail. There are no walls or railings on this smaller trail, so it may not be suitable for young children. There is a small parking lot and toilet facilities at the cape. There is no easy way to get down to the beach from this location. However, a short drive away are the Gushikawa ruins where there is a small trail that leads to the beach. The castle ruins are nothing more than a few low crumbling walls.
