About
Enjoy the sound of silence on an unforgettable island sleepover.
Most visitors to the Channel Islands head to Santa Cruz Island, but true solitude seekers should aim for Santa Rosa Island, where you can camp amid 84 square miles of dramatic canyons, powder-sand beaches, and groves of rare Torrey pines. For an even bigger dose of isolation during your visit, hike 4½ miles (one way) through Lobo Canyon, where your sweet reward is an edge-of-the-world overlook atop a rocky shoreline.
Ferries regularly access the Channel Islands; from Ventura, the boat ride takes roughly 2½ hours one way. For details, contact Island Packers.
