About

Sitting at one of the wood-planked restaurants perched above the water at this typical (Chilean and foreigner) tourist spot is the perfect way to spend the lunchtime hour. Portions are hearty, the fish is fresh, and you can watch the fishermen's boats (including the Navimag, if you time it right) come and go. The restaurants are numbered, and everyone has a favorite, but you can't go wrong with one that's got mostly full tables. After your meal (try the congrio!), you can wander among the handicraft stalls, where woolens and carved wood are sold. Take a colectivo (around 400 pesos) along the costanera if you don't feel like walking through the port.
