Éigse Dhiarmuid Uí Shúilleabháin is a traditional music, song and dance weekend to commemorate the life and work of Diarmuid Ó Súilleabhain, singer and journalist, who died tragically in December 1991.It consists of music, song and dance workshops, sessions, gigs, and recitals, lectures on various aspects of local history and music, singers' get-togethers, céilís, events to bring together children from all the Gaeltachts, and also events to forge friendships between speakers of Gaeilge and Gaidhilg, with visitiors from Scotland and Northern Ireland.Exhibitions of local art and craft are also held during the Éigse.
