Next to the three-star Mimosa Hotel is a pleasant semi-alfresco food court that gathers the best of local hawker fare in one convenient location. Large vertical banners hanging from street lamps lead visitors along a cobbled lane lined on one side with handicraft and trinket stalls, a tall coconut tree in the middle, and a small elevated patio serving beer and drinks. Over a dozen stalls serve tantalizing varieties of popular hawker dishes at reasonable prices, including fishball noodles, roti canai (for breakfast), fried kuay teow (flat rice noodles), Nyonya (Straits Chinese) fare, satay (grilled meat skewers), grilled fish ikan bakar and fried oyster omelets. Beer and soft drinks are available.
