Right in the middle of Ubud town, Bumbu Bali (bumbu means spices) serves up both Indian and Balinese food. The Indian decor is a refreshing change--make sure to check out the walls near the bathroom. House specials are Indian thali plates (IDR25,000-IDR37,000) and Balinese platters (IDR35,000 for smoked Balinese duck, IDR25,000 for mixed satay or skewered meat, IDR45,000 for seafood). A large variety of vegetarian appetizers and mains is available. The unusual combinations in juices and desserts (rose petal ice cream, for example) will delight you. No corkage charge.
