Resembling a UFO hovering over Budapest, this 13,000-seat sports arena is equipped to accommodate indoor sports, ice hockey, and large events and concerts. Budapest Arena was completed in March 2003, and has been built on the site of the former sports arena, Sportcsarnok, which burnt to the ground in 1999. The arena is located at the Népstadion complex near the city centre in District XIV of Budapest.
