Boomerang's Classic Grill

About
Though it has changed its name to reduce confusion, Boomerang's is still likely to remind diners of the Aussie-themed Outback Steakhouse chain, right down to the oversize knives here. Though there is now a second location in the town of Dartmouth, this is not a chain; service is rather more personal, and the Aussie-whimsical decor is done with a lighter hand. It's a handsome spot with three dining rooms, all quite dim with slatted dividers, drawn shades, and ceiling fans, which create the impression that it's blazingly hot outside (a real trick in Feb in New Brunswick). The menu features lobster and all the usual stuff from the barbie, including grilled chicken breasts and ribs. But the steak selection is the reason you come, ranging from an 8-ounce bacon-wrapped tenderloin to a 14-ounce porterhouse; you can even get them "blue-rare" if you want. Side it with an Aussie baked potato if you like. Boomerang's burgers are also excellent, and the plethora of lunch offerings and "cut lunch" specials is nothing short of amazing -- every kid and parent can find something good to eat here.
