Books. Broese [45] is a large bookstore at Stadhuisbrug 5. They have a fair selection of English books. Nearby there is also De Slegte [46], at Oudegracht 121, which has a wide selection of second hand books. Bijleveld [47] at the Janskerkhof is an old bookstore with beautiful wooden show windows. And last but not least de Rooie Rat [48], at Oudegracht 65 (next to Augustine's church), which is the oldest collectively run political bookstore of the Netherlands.
