About
A day of scenic grandeur -- you start with a fast ferry ride for an hour and a half to Tagbilaran, capital city of Bohol Island, an eco-tourism destination. Upon arrival, you proceed on a tour of the Bohol Countryside, passing by a major landmark, the Blood Compact Monument; then rural scenes like a man-made mahogany forest (a reforestation project), a nipa palm village, the 15th Century Baclayon Church & Museum, and finally the scenic, serene river in town of Loboc. Cruise up the river while you take your lunch on a local floating restaurant. Be entertained by a guitar duet who will serenade you with local folksongs and international pop music. Take time to enjoy an encounter with the world's smallest primate - the Tarsier, before travelling on to Carmen town to marvel at the famed Chocolate Hills, a thousand or more uniformly-shaped hills that turn brown during summer, resembling chocolate mounds. Be sure to check out the splendid vista from the Viewpoint on top of one of the highest of these hills. With some free time, walk about the small stalls and take home a souvenir.
