Blue Mountain National Park

The Phawngpui Blue Mountain National Park is located in the Lawngtlai district of the East Indian state of Mizoram. The nearest city to Phawngpui is the capital Aizawl, at a distance of 300 kilometers. It covers an area of 50 square kilometers. Established in the year 1992, it is one of the two National Parks of Mizoram state , other being Murlen National Park, which is bigger in area. Phawngpui lies at the borders of Mizoram and Myanmar. The National Park derives its name from the mountain peak Phawngpui, which is the highest mountain peak, elevating at a height of 2157 meters, in the state.
