The Bird in Hand has a rustic country pub feel with its black beams and horse brasses and offers value for money dining in well-groomed surroundings. A games room and beer garden make it a busy but pleasant place in the evenings. Plenty of tables are usually available, although booking is recommended for the restaurant. Blackboards adorn the pine and lemon walls proclaiming the day's fare which may include delicious Barnsley lamb chops or a ribs and chicken combo. The service is particularly efficient and pleasant.
