Bike Riding
Lord Howe Island,Australia
About
Lord Howe Island offers spectacular cycling, with the island's 13km of scenic roads and tracks perfect for bike riding. On-road tracks wind around the island through lush rainforest and with the speed limit set at 25km per hour, cyclists rule the island roads and pedal power is the favoured mode of transport. At just 12km long, Lord Howe lends itself well to discovery on two wheels, with visitors and locals using bikes to admire the island and its beaches, shops and restaurants, and to reach walking track starting points. Bike racks are placed at different points around Lord Howe, allowing riders to hop off to enjoy an ocean dip, scenic walk, bite to eat or just to explore the island some more. Bikes can be hired at reasonable rates on the island and some accommodation suppliers provide guests with bikes for their stay.
