Explore the Sacramento River's banks through surprisingly wild and picturesque terrain. Watch lizards make dashes across the road and possibly even catch a glimpse of mountain lions, which have been known to make a (rare) appearance. The mostly flat trail crosses bridges past (the 1915 Diestelhorst Bridge) and present (the 420-foot-long concrete-and-cable Ribbon Bridge built in 1990). Rent bikes from a local shop.
