Like its trendy counterpart in Dubai, BiCE is one of the hottest restaurants in Abu Dhabi. Head chef Luciano Gandolfo's modern Italian menu includes a number of homemade pastas, risottos made with Carnaroli rice Ferron, and tempting steak and seafood selections. My favorite pastas include veal-stuffed ravioli bathed in a wild-mushroom sauce, and small potato gnocchi in a light Gorgonzola fondue with walnuts. The champagne risotto with asparagus and black truffles is a creative if indulgent dish. The best steak here is a medium-cooked Angus filet in a red-wine sauce. For dessert, the tiramisu suits just fine. Ask for a table near one of the floor-to-ceiling windows that looks out to the Gulf. People tend to dress up for BiCE, and a piano singer is on hand nightly to warm the celebratory crowd.
