Subramanya Bharathi, who came to Pondicherry seeking refuge from the British, has been converted into a memorial museum, honouring his life's work. He composed some of the finest patriotic songs and immortal works of Tamil literature. In one room you will find photographs of people who were influential in Bharathi's life and in another journals and publications in which he wrote articles and worked as an editor. In the last room, the largest one, is an oil painting of Bharathi along with pictures of his family and letters he wrote to other notables and freedom fighters.
