Belongil Beach at Byron Bay has a section that is a legal free beach. Nude sun baking and swimming is permitted all year. Each month the local nudist group organize a small beach picnic that involves beach games such as cricket and races. Visitors and tourists are welcome anytime. Photography is usually frowned upon. Organised nudist events on the 3rd Sunday of each month at the beach. Look for the yellow Free Beach Association flag on the beach near the entry from the carpark.
