About

A moderate, sometimes tricky walk, along pleasant woodland roads and over several small streams. There are pretty views of the countryside and small farms of Boho, and at times of Ballintempo Forest. There is a large disused limestone quarry on the routethat contains fossils of crinoids, and coral - however this is dangerous to enter and should be viewed from afar. Further on, a small but powerful stream has gouged out a deep pothole creating a spectacular waterfall, this is called a 'Pollnagollum' -Irish for 'Hole of the doves'. The waterfall tumbles over a precipice and into a cave, the cave is quite accessible. Further on there are spectacular views from the forest path of Ross Lough, Carran Lough and the Brougher Mountain.
