Beinhaus

Beinhaus, which means Bone House, is located in Hallstatt. Because of the small size of the town, the town has run out of space for the people's remains. That is why the bodies, which had been buried earlier, were excavated and were sun-bleached. These bones are stored in Beinhaus. To avoid making it frightening, skulls were decorated with painted flowers.
