Guglielmo Battistoni started out as a shirt maker at 61A, via Condotti, only a handful of people knew the place a courtyard tucked away from the sight of passers by which was the mirror image of its owner.Battistoni was not simply in the fashion business, as he states with all due modesty and self awareness: "to try to set the trend and dictate the norms, albeit for one single season, in something as fickle and fanciful as fashion, is like forcing a swallow to fly in a straight line instead of letting it follow its natural curlicues and arabesques".
