The Money Museum of Bank Negara is a work of art in itself. It was first opened in April 5, 1989. Every arch from the carvings on the century old teak entrance door to the panels, shelves and lighting tells its own story. The plan to have a museum to demonstrate the Bank's numismatic collection was realized with its inauguration by Datin Seri Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohamed Ali, the Prime Minister Dato Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamed's wife. The event coincided with the bank's 30th anniversary. The Bank Negara Money Museum remains open everyday excepting Sundays.
