Banashankari Amma Temple or Banashankari temple is a Hindu shrine located at Cholachagudd near Badami, in Bagalkot district, Karnataka, India.Banashankari Temple, one of the beautiful shrines of Hindus in the region, is dedicated to Shakhambri Devi, an incarnation of goddess Parvati. The name of the temple is derived from its location, which is spread in Tilakaaranya forest at Cholachagudd near Badami.The black stone sculpture of goddess Banashankari is enshrined in the inner sanctum of the temple. It is believed that the temple was constructed by the Chalukyas to represent their respect and devotion to their Kuladevi or tutelary deity.
