Construction of the Lord Shiva idol and the temple started in 1994. On the auspicious day of Maha Shivaratri, the Balkeshwar Temple (Shiva Temple) was inaugurated. Sri Shankaracharya (who is believed to be the incarnation of Lord Shiva himself) dedicated the Shiv Mandir to the public. Since then the Shiva Temple has become a revered spiritual destination. People come here with the belief that their problems will be solved after touching the Shiva idol here. And their problems do disappear.
