Unlike the other noodle stalls, restaurants or bars, this legendary spot in the China town area stands out because it uses beef meat as the noodle companion instead of chicken or pork. Choose bakmi (noodle), kwetiau (flat rice noodle), or bihun (rice noodle), which will be served with tasty soup of beef chunks. But to make it perfect, add the bakso urat (beef tendon meatballs). Hands down, this combination beats any noodle in town. Make sure to bring a local since the servers don't speak English, or just remember the magic words, Bakmi Baso Urat. For a more local flavor, try Es Liang Teh, the cooling herbal drink from Sumatra. The place is always packed (and lively) from 7:30 pm onwards, so be there early to avoid the queue. – Kenny Santana
