About

The name means Bavarian Corner and this little oasis of German cuisine and beer is hidden away behind Blaha Lujza ter. The interior decoration comes from that unusual style best described as a cross between a traditional English pub and Maria Theresa's front room. A strange pinky light emanates from the strange pink lamp shades which dangle over every table, giving off a not entirely un-flattering hue to the skin. Giant paintings of German villages decorate the walls and lots of foliage and greenery soak up the tobacco smoke efficiently. The cuisine is not for the faint hearted or those on a strict diet; find plenty of fried meat and potatoes and there is a range of beers and draughts from a ceramic tap on a crowded bar top.
