A number of restaurants and cafes in Hoi An offer cooking classes aside from serving tourists food. Chefs can teach tourists how to make general Vietnamese dishes, as the ingredients of the Hoi An's specialties are only found in Hoi An, and some will only teach tourists how to chop vegetables and roll spring rolls because they want to keep the secrets of the dish.
