Dating back to 1228 and once the estate of the Guinness family, the magnificent Ashford Castle first opened as a hotel in 1939. The Cong, County Mayo accommodation has a long tradition of hospitality and has won awards From ‘Conde Nast Traveller’ and ‘Travel & Leisure’ magazines in recent years. Many of the 83 rooms retain their original features, though all are equipped with modern amenities, including telephone, interactive TV, Internet access, an ironing centre, hair dryer and safety deposit box.
