This establishment looks like it was touched by King Midas; almost everything is painted gold with few visual distractions like the crystal chandeliers in the main room. However, when a restaurant is empty on a Friday night at 8pm, the decor is even more obvious than when crowded with lively diners. Articsóka is a restaurant, a cafe, and a roof terrace. With the moon full, our party of four could not resist eating on the roof terrace, where we where the only diners during our entire visit, making the service of two waiters exemplary. The menu is limited to 11 entrees of Hungarian dishes with a couple of vegetarian dishes included. Our waiter stated they were out of most wines on their list, but would have more the following week. I started with the goat cheese soup with sun-dried tomato ciabatta and my friend started with the pear soup with ginger and lamb-liver dumplings. Both were so mouthwatering delicious, we actually could have screamed from the rooftop. We eagerly anticipated the entrees, but we should have left then and relished the memory of the soup. We had the pasta with smoked beef covered in paprika chili served with aubergine and pepperoni and the polenta with roasted aubergine served with tomato spinach ragout. The entrees were not even close to our expectations promised by the descriptions.
