Art & Mór - Paint Your Own Pottery is a great activity for families, couples, friends, individuals...in fact it's fun for everyone!You pick a piece of blank pottery from the shelves - mug, bowl, vase, piggy bank, there's plenty to choose from. Then you sit down and paint it. Take your time, this is your very own masterpiece! Art & Mór provide all sorts of tools, in the shape of stickers, stencils and stamps, to help get those creative juices flowing.Once you're done, they will glaze and fire it for you in the kiln to produce a beautiful piece of dishwasher and food safe pottery. Hand-painted by you!If you're on holiday, don't worry. Though the glazing and firing process can take a few days, there are plenty of alternatives. Any decorative pieces (such as money boxes, frames, plaques, etc.) can be painted with special acrylic paints and taken home that day.Art & Mór offer a range of other craft activities, including silk painting, fabric painting and glass painting. Other crafts are frequently introduced to keep things fresh!Along with a drop-in service, there is a Saturday Kids Club. This is open to all ages and is an hour of fun making of all sorts. They offer a late-opening service by arrangement and frequently hold camps and workshops.Everything is done on-site, which means you will get to see each step of the process from painting, to glazing, to firing in the kiln. Art & Mór hold a strong belief that it is important for children (and parents!) to understand how the process works. Once fired, the piece of pottery safe for use around the kitchen.There is always a member of staff on-hand to offer any help that’s needed. They will show you the different techniques they have picked up from all over the world and some easy and effective styles.The studio is spacious and well lit, located on the soon to be opened Kenmare by-pass. There is a large car-park located adjacent to Kenmare Shopping Centre with 300 spaces so parking is always easy.Within the centre there are disabled toilets available, as well as an ATM. Art & Mór's own shop is fully wheelchair accessible and they are happy to cater to any special need groups or people suffering from other disabilities.
