The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva's in its Ardhanarishwar (half-woman) form. This half-woman form of Lord Shiva illustrates how God transcends the opposites and limitations that define human life. Outside the temple, one can see a large cast metal statue of Nandi (the bull), Shiva's animal associate. Along the side of this statue is painted an auspicious Hindu symbol, Swastika.
