Arctic Botanical Gardens (Lystigardurinn)

Park is on the southern slope south of College, and is run by the Akureyri Botanical Garden and park. Parks was formally opened 1912 Botanical Garden in 1957. The park has been expanded three times since its inception and is now about 3.7 hectares. Role garden is multifaceted. First and foremost, however, focused on finding the import and testing, beautiful, hardy, attractive foreign plants were cultivated in this country as well as being Park appropriate for people for information and entertainment. park is renowned for its beauty and a large number of species.
