The walking district of the Sultanahmet is no stranger to wheeling and dealing visitors and locals to buy their knick knacks, especially carpet dealers. Arasta Halicilik is not your typical carpet vendor, if anything he is the exact opposite. He meticulously designs a modernized version of Kilims on his computer and places the designs on a collection of ancient Anatolian fabric. This innovative idea has created quite a splash in Istanbul and he is being praised for his originality and patchwork like designs.
