About Aprilia

Aprilia is a town and comune (municipality) in the province of Latina , in the Lazio region of central Italy . It is the fifth town for population in the region and the tenth for its area. Aprilia is located at 80 miles (129 kilometres) above sea level , nell'Agro pontino, and is 16 kilometres (10 miles) from Anzio and Nettuno , 35 km (22 mi) from Rome and 16 km (10 mi) from Colli Albani . Despite being a relatively small company by global motorcycling standards, Aprilia is very active in motorcycle sports . It contests many Road Racing formulae, including the FIM 125 cc World Championship, the FIM 250 cc World Championship, and the now-defunct FIM 500 cc World Championship. Aprilia Racing has seen varying successes. They were successful in the smaller displacement categories, winning numerous races & championships in the 125 cc Grand Prix and 250 cc Grand Prix classes. However, their 500 cc Grand Prix bike was less competitive, and their MotoGP effort, dubbed the RS Cube , was technically advanced but difficult to ride and performed poorly in the championship.
