The Apple Express is a steam-powered train that travels from the Humerail train station in Humewood, Port Elizabeth, to the Loerie Station (about 2.5 hours away). There are other drop-off points along the way, and many scenic views. The train is one of only two narrow-gauge steam trains in South Africa, and passes over the Van Stadens Bridge, the highest narrow-gauge bridge in the world at 77 meters (about 250 feet) tall. The train ride makes for an interesting and unforgettable day trip with family or friends.
