About

The Anglican Communion is an international association of churches consisting of the Church of England and of national and regional Anglican churches in full communion with it. St Paul's Church was opened on Whitsunday, 12 June 1859, having been built to the design of the Sydney architect Edmund Thomas Blacket, though supervised by William C. Wakeling, who moved north for the purpose. The building was consecrated by Bishop Hale on St Mark's Day, 25 April 1880, and the side aisles were added in 1888 to the design of F.D.G. Stanley.1 A new sanctuary, chancel, chapel and aisles were added in 1929 to mark the 70th anniversary of the opening of the church.
